How we work

From the first email to the final handover.

Every Doyenne project moves through four phases. The phases are the same whether your package is concept-only or full realization — what differs is how far we travel them with you and how much of the build sits on our side of the contract.

Phase 1 — Discovery

Typical duration: 1 week

A free 30-minute call. We listen, ask, and figure out whether your project fits one of our packages — or whether you would be better served by a different studio.
What we deliver
- Recorded video consult
- Written brief recap (one page)
- Package recommendation with rationale
- Initial timeline estimate
What you do
- Bring photos / sketches / Pinterest of the space
- Share budget range (even rough)
- Tell us your involvement preference (remote / on-site)

Phase 2 — Design

Typical duration: 3–8 weeks

Brief, space planning, concept design, and 3D visualization. You see the space before any wall moves.
What we deliver
- Design brief (signed off before we start)
- Space plan options (2–3 alternatives)
- Concept boards (materials, palette, lighting)
- 3D photoreal renderings of key spaces
- Weekly Friday review calls
What you do
- Approve or revise concept boards
- Attend weekly review calls
- Final sign-off on selected concept

Phase 3 — Documentation

Typical duration: 2–6 weeks (parallel to Phase 2 closing)

Technical drawings, material specifications, lighting plan, and contractor handover documents. (Skipped on Concept-only.)
What we deliver
- Construction drawings (DIN-compliant)
- Material and finish schedules
- Lighting plan with fixture specifications
- Contractor tender document set
- Clarifications log for the build
What you do
- Review the spec book
- Approve finish samples (we ship physical samples for DACH projects)
- Final documentation sign-off

Phase 4 — Build

Typical duration: 3–9 months depending on scope

Either we supervise your contractor (Package 3) or we deliver turnkey on our own contracts (Package 4). Skipped on Packages 1 and 2.
What we deliver
- Contractor coordination calls
- Monthly on-site supervision visits (DACH)
- Photo + written reports after each visit
- Milestone QA checklists
- Snag list and final handover walkthrough
What you do
- Receive monthly site reports
- Approve milestone payments
- Final walkthrough and acceptance

What stays the same on every project

Senior-led from start to finish

No junior delegation. The senior designer who runs your discovery call leads your project through handover.
Weekly Friday review, every project

A 30-minute video call every Friday during active design or build. Same cadence whether you are around the corner or across Europe.
Written everything

Decisions, change orders, milestone approvals — all confirmed in writing. The Friday email is the source of truth.
Photos and reports after every site visit

For supervised and turnkey builds: written reports plus photos within 48 hours of every site visit.
